EL FARO

El Faro in Puerto Colon must be one of Tenerife's best kept secrets. Since opening in July 2007, the Faro Chill Art Club has held a series of concerts and events that has placed it firmly on the map as the trendiest and most “in” place to go, whatever day of the week.

So what is El Faro Chill Art?  It can be anything you want it to be…the wonderful thing about El Faro is that it transforms itself constantly, as they will cater to the wishes of each client.  Events for companies, birthday parties, hen or stag parties; you name it, it can be done.  As Diego says, the word “No” doesn’t exist at El Faro; they will make whatever the client wants possible.

The club is enormous, 1500 square metres which holds 2000 people easily; it has various terraces (The Zen Terrace, The Greek Terrace, and The Ithaca Terrace) and different areas, like the “Chill Zone”, the “Sin Zone” or the “Wifi Zone”.  All the architecture and decoration is based on a reconstructed Ithaka, everything in El Faro is symbolic and has a meaning.

Sunday evenings are extra special with the performance of El Faro’s resident group “The Swing Cats”; this is an evening for all the family to enjoy together, starting at 19:30, just in time for you to enjoy the spectacular sunsets which El Faro is fast becoming famous for.  The Swing Cats perform accessible, fun jazz and more, and children absolutely love it and have a whale of a time dancing to the music; think of the film “The Aristocats”, that is what the Swing Cats are about.

But live music is not the only thing that you can experience at El Faro Chill Art.  Saturday nights are great for dancing, with some of the best DJs playing their music.  Comedy, magic shows of the highest level, master classes with the best musicians; all these take place there regularly.

Their aim is to support art in all its forms, no matter what.  And this is what is taking place at this magical place in Costa Adeje.  Describing it is hard to do, as El Faro Chill Art is a place you must experience to understand.
