SIAM PARK TENERIFE - OPEN FOR PLEASURE!

Rich interviewing Cristoph On Friday the 12th September, the team from siamparktenerife.com were invited to Siam Park where we attended the press conference, with a further invitation to explore the Park and try the rides for ourselves.

Tropical ParadiseFor Rich, Debs and Rick this would be the perfect opportunity to see if the Park really did live up to expectations, and I have to say, we were not disappointed.

When we arrived, the Park was already beginning to fill up with invited guests. The guests were mainly local Fire crews, Police officers and Health workers along with their families.

We took our place on the front row at the press conference and and it wasn't long before we were given the opportunity to ask questions.

Once the conference was over, we were taken on a guided tour of the Park. It was a warm sunny day (as always) and the Park was alive with the sound of people excitedly exploring this amazing place. The Park is a tropical paradise and fits perfectly within its surroundings. It is clear that a great deal of thought and effort has been put into this particularly as some of the slides are huge - yet they blend perfectly into their backdrop.

The Tower of PowerThe Park is easy to walk around, with everything laid out in a logical way. After we had explored the Thai floating market with its Tea House and Carp filled waters below, we moved on to the Tower of Power. This is simply awesome, and the view from the top is amazing too. Although the ride down the Tower of Power only lasts for around 5 seconds, it is a real adrenaline rush. The near vertical drop from the top of the slide then takes you through a clear tube surrounded by crystal clear water. When we tried this, the water had beautiful fish in it but the intention is to have 13 Aligators here.

The water slides were busy with people having fun and you could clearly see that everybody was having a great time. The Park has the capacity to cater for around 2000 people at any one time which gives some idea as to its size.

Debs decided that it was time to get something to eat, so we made our way to the Thai House. This is an informal restaurant where you can get an assortment of dishes ranging from salads and burgers to Thai rice dishes. The kitchen is open with the food being cooked in view. We all ordered hamburger and chips, with a drink. The burgers are cooked on a flame griddle and are served with salad. The chips are served in a way which is similar to McDonalds. We all enjoyed our food, and agreed that next time we visit we would be a bit more adventurous and try some of the more unusual dishes.

Just up the pathway from the restaurant is a childrens play area. This is well supervised and looks great fun. If you go in here, there is no way that you are going to stay dry!! Trust me on this one!!!

Next came the beach and wave pool. It is difficult to get a true feel for how big this beach is from looking at the photographs. Much bigger that we all thought. Beach volleyball can be played here or you can just relax and chill out on one of the sunbeds. The Park has its own surf school, so no excuses for not having a go!

Did the Park live up to our expectations? Yes it did in every possible way. With all the hype and anticipation over the last seven years this could so easily have been an anti-climax, but far from it. This place really is a water kingdom and rightly deserves the title of the GREATEST WATER THEME PARK IN EUROPE.
