Loro Parque

Loro Parque has always been known as one of the top visitor attractions on Tenerife, and with around 1.5 million visitors each year, it's easy to see why.

Originally it was mainly a Parrot park, however the site now covers a massive 135,000 square metres and Loro Parque is home to some of the worlds most fascinating and exotic animals including Dolphins, Orca whales, Tigers, Penguins and sea-lions.

It's a great day out for anyone.

Sing in the Canaries

Tenerife is always a popular hotspot for tourists from all over, and with good reason. The biggest of the seven Canary Islands, it is a busy, thriving place, with a splendid climate for holiday-making thanks to its location at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and close to the north African coast. With traditional rural towns as well as hillside villages, not to mention distinctive landscapes out in the open country, and thriving nightlife in the big resorts, it is a paradise for visitors.

The famous resorts Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos have these days become essentially one giant play area for younger visitors, full of bright lights, and always buzzing with great clubs and bars. For a rather quieter and more relaxed experience however Puerto de la Cruz may well be up your street, popular as it is with the older tourists. The capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is also a hugely popular destination.

With a splendid climate that sees little variation in the sublime warmth, whether it’s summer or winter, there is only rare rain. It is a paradise island, with lush forests, mountains, and beaches.

Warm, sunny days are perfect, giving you the chance to relax by whiling away the hours basking in the heat and lying on the beach, occasionally going for a dip in the water. Play ball games, try out some water sports, surfing and beach volleyball, or go hiking, climbing, paragliding, cycling: the opportunities are endless in this exciting destination.

You could even go exploring by walking along the quieter stretches of shoreline on offer. In Tenerife you can enjoy some fantastic times by going swimming and sunbathing on the beautiful beaches.

Come the evening, all over Tenerife both locals and tourists head out and the place comes alive. Head to the great restaurants to enjoy local delicacies. Fish is always popular on the island, whilst typically Spanish tapas will always be on offer as will other standard Spanish dishes such as tortilla and paella.

In the south meanwhile you’ll find plenty of restaurants appealing to the island’s tourist visitors and their native tastes: there are 15 McDonalds on the island, whilst in the hotspots such as Playa de las Americas you’ll see menus available in a wide range of global languages, making it easy for foreign newcomers to choose and be made to feel at home.
